Human beings are the reason any of this exists. This part of the philosophy is about the people using what we make — their experience, their privacy, their differences.

Respect by default

We don't track users. We don't use cookies. This site's public agent contracts prohibit both, and the deploy gate enforces the contracts — check /agents/index.json rather than trusting us. And where content needs it, we rate it, so what we make lands in front of the right audience appropriately. Respect isn't a settings page; it's the default state.

Built from lived experience

Human experience — lived experience — is a core value, and what we build aims to be an extension of it, not a replacement for it. This is personal: as a father, a lot of these builds began as things for my own family, my own life. That origin keeps the work honest — and it's why we believe technology has to be customizable: no two lives fit the same shape, and the tools should bend to the person, not the person to the tools.
